This iconic structure is known for its detailed brickwork and ornate sandstone embellishments. Learn more about Music Hall’s previous large-scale restoration. Explore the masonry repairs SSRG performed in 2017. Over the past 140 years, the original carved sandstone has deteriorated. In some places, only portions of the decorative elements remain. The team will be completing Music Hall ornamentation repairs, restoring key pieces on the exterior. These pieces include 10 finials atop gables and a sandstone lyre. Learn more about SSRG’s historic restoration experience. The removal of the lyre was an exceedingly demanding process. Two team members removed the lyre from 75’ above street level. The lyre was then 3D scanned so that it can be reproduced with GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete). Want to join a team that preserves local treasures?
