Cornice repairs on historic Northside home

SSRG is working with longtime partners The Hamilton County Landbank and Cincinnati Preservation Association on a historic home in Northside, a neighborhood outside of Cincinnati.

The home at 4661 Hamilton Ave was constructed in 1870 and has a rich history. It had been used as a hotel and saloon, was known as “Bunker Hill House,” and it served as a gathering place for the community for generations. It also served as a rest stop for travelers along the turnpike that used to run from Hamilton to Cincinnati.

A key element of the restorations have been cornice repairs along the roof. Crews are carefully disassembling the damaged sections, building replicas, and installing them.
