Two new parks with Reds Community Fund

St. Bernard field repaired through Reds Community Fund [1]This summer, Cincinnati will enjoy two refreshed and renovated parks [2], thanks to the Reds Community Fund and local contractors, including SSRG. The Reds Community Fund [3] “is dedicated to improving the lives of youth by leveraging the tradition of the Cincinnati Reds and the game of baseball.” SSRG is proud to be a continued part of this local initiative that creates safe places for children to play and do what they do best: be children.

A Cincinnati Partnership

SSRG has been a longtime partner of The Cincinnati Reds [4], most recently performing masonry and structural work on the 1869 Red Stockings Pavilion [5]. Over the years, SSRG has also participated in many summers of the Reds Community Fund, repairing and renovating parks across the city. This year, the team worked on facilities at Ross Park in St. Bernard and Bellevue Vets Park as a part of the Reds 150th Anniversary.

Both parks required similar scopes of work, although Ross Park was larger. At Ross Park, teams renovated the baseball field, which has been renamed Frank Robinson Field, which will be the home to both St. Bernard-Elmwood Place and Roger Bacon High Schools. The field received a new synthetic infield, upgrades to the outfield, plus a renovation of the bleachers, concessions stand, and the surrounding park. The Bellevue Vets park also received a new synthetic infield and expanded outfield, along with upgrades to the two adjacent fields. SSRG was the specialty contractor that installed a “Palace of the Fans” backstop at both fields that feature a seating and press area, as well as pouring the new slab for the picnic shelter. The team performed general concrete and site repairs to both locations.

The communities are thrilled with the end result [6] and look forward to years of summer fun to come.
