Helical Pile World (HPW) and Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) teamed up to present a helical trade show at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The goal was to showcase the helical pile and tieback industry’s dedication to producing high-quality, safe, reliable and cost-effective foundation solutions for a variety of foundation and utility application challenges. SSRG was a local partner of DFI and helped bring this important industry event to the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The event, held on June 4-5, 2019, included structured technical education programs, indoor and outdoor equipment exhibitions, and live installation demonstrations that highlight the products, resources and expertise used to design, install, and test helical pile and anchor elements for structural support and earth retention applications. SSRG team members Danny Smyth and Dave Witterstaetter led demonstrations with the 80K motor, using a 7″ pile with a 200-ton capacity. The particular torque motor used can handle up to 12″ piles. Project Engineer and helical mastermind Sakshi Sharma was also there to answer any questions about which helical solutions are right for which situations. The event had excellent turnout. More than 400 people from all over the world—including Canada, England, and Japan—stopped by the SSRG booth to learn more about how helicals can deliver higher quality, more flexibility, and more reliability, to a variety of projects.
