Allison Transmission has been producing automotive parts since the beginning of World War I. As years passed, business grew and Allison added to their plant. These additions vary as widely in construction methods as they vary in the decade they were constructed. Most of the campus’s façade is a combination of brick and limestone. However, many of the newer buildings have incorporated modern siding with the campus’s traditional brick.

After so many years, repairs and replacements were needed throughout the masonry façade. SSRG worked through the 12 different locations on the 41-acre campus. It was imperative that the many moving pieces of the client’s production process remain fully operational. Teams coordinated closely with the General Contractor and with Allison Transmission in to achieve this. All the while, emphasizing safety for both Allison and SSRG employees.

Arsee Engineers specified a variety of solutions throughout the campus. Brick tuck-pointing was the most prominent portion of the scope, but work also included:

  • steel lintel refinishing
  • full brick veneer replacement
  • resetting of limestone coping
  • sealant replacement
